Congress once again purposely delayed their fight on spending until the eleventh hour so that they could take hostages. And now they’ve kicked the can down the road for a few more months. But in the midst of the tense negotiations, Trump weighed in to adamantly support the suspension of the debt ceiling for another couple of years—it’s worth asking why.
