To be fair, most of Musk's enterprises have relied to varying degrees on government funding. Carbon credits to Tesla, NASA contracts to SpaceX, local funding for the Boring Company, whose Hyperloop is still a pipe dream.

Congress won't take this idea to save money, but stop all foreign aid, including the tens of billions of dollars annually to Israel and Egypt. Stop every dollar. You cannot buy friendship in the real world and this also applies to nations. Same goes for sending relief funds/the military to disaster areas around the world. It isn't charity when you demand our tax dollars and then send it overseas. Let Americans contribute to relief organizations who can accomplish much more with less than government ever can.

As with most things about our Republic, I hope that FXHedge is right and DOGE will continue to uncover wasteful spending but I fear that the effort will disappear. Look at the pathetic voting on a $9 billion rescissions bill. Every Democrat and four Republicans voted against it and while it passed with a slim margin, the remaining $150 billion of DOGE cuts don't stand a chance. How stupid is that? We need to cut $3 trillion from the budget in order to have a chance at fiscal sanity and Congress can barely pass a bill that cuts 0.10% of current spending. The financial meteor is getting larger in the rear view mirror and Congress is discussing measles!
